make a difference

Our baseline goal is to raise 2,000 each month.  This will almost cover the cost of feed.  As we take in more animals, the baseline goal will increase.  Contributions in excess of the baseline goal will go into reserve and will cover supplies, materials, and operating costs to build an organization with a solid foundation for years to come.

All Corporate sponsorships will go toward materials and supplies needed for our educational programs.

full transparency

In the interest of full transparency, we wanted to tell all potential donors exactly how Big Love Sanctuary uses your donations.

Big Love Sanctuary has it's own bank account.  All monetary donations are deposited or received into the Big Love Sanctuary account held by Randolph Brooks Credit Union.

Expenses paid through the Big Love Sanctuary account cover feed, vet bills, basic care needs, habitat or enclosure maintenance, educational supplies, staffing and volunteer support, and any other purpose that directly relates to the support and well being of the sanctuary animals and the learning opportunities we host.

Tangible assets gifted or purchased directly by Big Love Sanctuary, are owned and belong to the sanctuary.  Big Love Sanctuary Bylaws Article 7.05 Distribution of Assets states, "Upon the dissolution of the organization, assets shall be distributed for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code, or shall be distributed to the federal government, or to a state or local government, for the public purpose.  Any such assets not disposed of shall be disposed of by the District Court of the county in which the principal office of the organization is then located, as said court shall determine."  In other words, assets will always belong to Big Love Sanctuary or will otherwise be donated forward to another non-profit organization.

Until such time Big Love Sanctuary obtains it's own land and facility, it will be situated on the organization founders personal property.  Expenses relating to the property, equipment, utilities or any other expense where the a title is held in the founders own name, are paid for by the founders, not with Big Love Sanctuary funds.

If you would like to join a Board meeting or serving as a board member, please visit our Organization page and Contact us for more details.

honey bees

While our honey bees offer a wonderful opportunity to educate people on their care and purpose, they are owned by the founders.  None of the care or costs associated with the honey bee production will ever be paid for by Big Love Santuary.
